MOTOR, HOME OR BUSINESS INSURANCE CLAIMS
We are here to help you and guide you through the claims process.
You may notify the insurer in a number of ways:-
1. You may ring or e-mail us with details of the loss and we will report it to the insurers on your behalf
2. You may ring the insurers directly on their 24 hour claims helpline numbers (this is often the quickest way to get the claim process started) - insurer telephone numbers below.
3. You may send us a claim form. However, we recommend that you fax or e mail this to us, in order to avoid delays.
If there is anything that you are unsure of, or if you require help and guidance on any aspect of your claim, please do not hesitate to telephone us on 0116 284 6090 for advice

Insurance Fraud Prevention
In order to prevent and detect fraud insurers may at any time:
Share information about you with other organisations and public bodies including the police:
Check and/or file your details with fraud prevention agencies and databases, and if you give them false or inaccurate information and they suspect fraud, they mayl record this. Insurers and other
organisations may also search these agencies and databases to:
Help make decisions about the provision and administration of insurance, credit and
related services for you and members of you household:
Trace debtors or beneficiaries recover debt, prevent fraud and to manage your accounts or insurance policies:
Check you identity to prevent money laundering, unless you furnish us with other
satisfactory proof of identity:
Undertake credit searches and additional fraud searches,
Insurers can supply on request further details of the databases they access or contribute to:
Insurance Claims History
Under the conditions of your policy you must tell insurers about any insurance related incidents
(such as fire, water damage, theft or an accident) whether or not they give rise to a claim.
When you tell insurers about an incident they may pass information relating to it to a database.
Insurers may search these databases when you apply for insurance, in the event of any incident or claim, or at time of renewal to validate your claims history or that of any other person or property likely to be involved in the policy or claim.
In assessing any claims made, the insurer or its agents may undertake checks against publicly
available information (such as electoral roll, county court judgments, bankruptcy orders or repossessions), information may also be shared with other insurers either directly or via those acting for the insurer (such as loss adjusters or investigators).
It is important that adequate values for the property insured are advised to the insurers. Any claims settlement may be reduced in the event of underinsurance.
Some of the information which you give insurers about a claim, may be passed to other insurance companies you tell them about. They mayl give yourinsurers information about your policy with them, and your insurers may ask them to pay a contribution to this claim. A contribution payment is normal practice where two or more policies cover the same item. If another company contributes to your claim, it should not affect any no claim discounts you may have with them.
For your joint protection telephone calls with insurers may be recorded and/or monitored.
